Members in British Waterways overwhelmingly accept 2010/11 Pay Offer

Following full consultation UNISON and Unite members have overwhelmingly voted to accept the 2010/11 pay deal as follows:

Salary Increase

1.5% or £250, whichever is the greater consolidated into the basic salary for level 3 performers and above.  This will be in the August pay packet, backdated to 1 July 2010.

Standby and Call Out Payments

To be no increases to the current provisions.

Christmas Leave

BW reported they were not prepared to offer an increase to the current leave entitlement and were also not prepared to open the offices during the Christmas period as this was a saving to the organisation.

Maternity and Paternity Leave

BW agreed to work with the trade unions on improvements to both schemes.  A joint working party will explore improvements.

Retirement Scheme

BW reported that the retirement seminars will be held again, starting this financial year and are prepared to enter into discussions around further improvements.

Please note:   this is a one year deal, the unions have not entered into a 3 year deal as indicated in previous correspondence by BW.
