Pay Update November 2009

(12/11/2009) This years pay round has still not been settled. The national HE unions met with the employers on the 4th November to continue with talks linked to the 2009/10 pay offer. Higher Education Pay Update

(15/10/09)As you are aware UNISON members voted overwhelmingly to accept this years pay offer.

Overwhelming vote to accept the 2009/10 pay offer

(06/10/2009The pay consultation results for this year reveal that 81.5% of members voted in favour of accepting the offer. This year 70 branches voted to accept whilst three voted to reject on a 27% turnout.

Accompanying feedback suggested that whilst members saw the offer as very poor, they took into account recent pay awards and were mainly focussed on protection of their jobs. Nonetheless there appears to be a significant feeling that whilst members are prepared to put up with a low offer this year, that should the national employers seek to make a similar offer next year there would be a different reaction.

Consultation on Final Pay Offer

(19/08/2009) We have sent details of the employers final offer of 0.5% to all branches. This includes a members briefing note which explains the history of the negotiations and asks members whether they want to accept or reject the offer, a copy of the draft final offer put forward by the national employers, and a copy of a branch ballot form for responding to the consultation.
