UNISON to ballot members on new unsocial hours payments

(21/01/08) The NHS Staff Council has now agreed a proposal for a harmonised and universal scheme of payments for staff working during unsocial hours. UNISON members are now being given the opportunity to vote on whether UNISON should vote to accept this new scheme at the Staff Council.

Interim increase in regular user car mileage rates secured

UNISON has secured a 10% uplift in car mileage rates for NHS staff using cars for work purposes. The new rates will apply (at this stage in England only) from 1st January 2008. The Staff Council is currently conducting a review of all mileage allowances and will consider the outcome in March 2008. The new rates will apply until the review uis completed. Improved NHS pay offer

Staff Side Survey for 2008/2009 pay round

(25//05/07) In preparation for submission of evidence to the Nursing and Other Health Professionals Pay Review Body for 2008/2009, UNISON is participating in the attached survey conducted by independent research agency Incomes Data Services (IDS) on behalf of all trade unions represented on the NHS staff council.
