What can I do?

There are lots of things you can do to help us win wide support for our campaign for a fair deal for public-service workers. Your help is crucial to raise public awareness of the contribution UNISON members make to local communities and the pressures they face.

Act now to make our campaign a success!

Have your say

Spread the word. Ensure everyone knows why your pay matters

  • Pin campaign posters and pay bulletins on your noticeboard at work
  • Have your say on news websites and talkback radio - help people understand why the government's 2% pay limit is a pay cut
  • Visit UNISONTV on Youtube and share the campaign videos, or add them to your branch or personal web, blog pages - or your facebook, bebo and myspace pages.
  • Volunteer to be interviewed and quoted by the press and media
  • Write to your MP
  • Send a letter to your local paper

Recruit new members. The bigger our union is, the stronger we are

  • You don't have to be a steward to encourage someone to join. Tell a colleague about the benefits of joining UNISON today
  • Make it a priority to talk to people about the campaign and joining UNISON
  • Always carry a recruitment leaflet with you

Stay informed

  • Sign up for the Pay Matters eBulletin
  • Read about the campaign in In Focus and U magazine
  • Keep a close eye on the website for the latest news and downloadable campaign materials

Help us gather information

  • Run or take part in a branch workshop. We need to be able to show how the pay squeeze is hurting our members
