National minimun wage is 10 years old

How young is young?

If you're under 27 years of age then you can get involved with UNISON's young members. We know that there are many members who are still young at heart, but we have to draw the line somewhere!

Join in

join in and take part in UNISONUNISON young members have the opportunity to get involved at the workplace, in their region, and nationally in UNISON and through our joint work with other organisations. We also have international links which have seen young members representing UNISON across the globe.

And getting involved isn't about taking everything on yourself and turning into a union fanatic. We are trying to build a union that works by spreading the load, sharing ideas, effort, and responsibility. It doesn't do you any good and it doesn't do the union any good if you burn yourself out by taking on too much too soon.

And we don't want you stuck in meetings for hours on end trying to put the world to rights in a talking shop. We want to get people actively involved in making a change for the better.
